The Critical Disability Studies minor is a 15-credit minor designed to foster innovative scholarship, teaching, and learning in critical disability studies, an emerging field crucial for a variety of areas of knowledge and workplaces in the twenty-first century. It is based in interdisciplinary collaboration across departments and programs and contributes directly to campus DEIA efforts and the social justice mission of UMBC. Disability is critically approached as part of the human experience and accessibility as a necessary collective practice of inclusion.
